Sorry you all, I didn't make it to the meeting last night and that is for a couple related reasons-

1) My cat was spooked, I picked him up, and he shredded my hand and sliced up my neck.

2) This caused me to yell, wake up my mom who had a long day, and proceeded to start a fight between us because I woke her up.

Needless to say, I was drained and in pain, so I popped some painkillers after wrapping my hand up and retreated back into by-myself-land. Because of all the drama, I forgot about the meeting, which when I realized it later made me bummed because I believe this is the second saturday I missed in a row for preventable reasons.

SO- I thought of something that would help me and others to remember, and I thought that putting a suggestion in for each meeting to be put up in the news the day before it happens, by me. With that written reminder in plain sight, I thought it might help drill it into my own head to remember, while helping anyone else who might not have the calender/might be new so don't have a invite to the meetings yet.

Well, that's good! I think it's just easy to forget about, especially since it's bi-weekly. >.>

And Kitty is doing well now. I was so shocked my reflexes sent him flying down the stairs, so I'm just glad he didn't have something broken. O_o And I am also glad I don't need stitches!

Yeah seriously! D: Our kitty had a freakout like that once AT the shelter! They were so worried we wouldn't take her home cause she tore the lady UP. They apparently needed to give her one more shot then get her into the carrier and she was so scared that she clawed up the woman's hand something awful, so much blood! We were a little nervous but she just hid for a couple of weeks after we got her home and now only freaks out when strangers (aka our friends and family, heh) come over. She was part of a feral litter before we got her so the whole people thing was very new.

Also, yes. Do you think we should go back to weekly meetings?

Ouch! I have had a cat attack my head once at work, but luckily I was able to scruff them before they did too much damage. But a lot of the more feral ones are crazy sometimes. At work, when feral litters come in we socialize 'em like crazy. Experienced fosters when available, or just being sure to sit next to them while they are in their cages for a while and gently pet them so they get used to things. Some of the older ones are still a little wild by the time we adopt them though.

Hmm... It could be that we have the Compass meetings more on-the-fly while waiting for more members there. Although rping with you is fun, we can do that whenever we want without a meeting. /thinks

What do you think?

I'm thinking of making a poll about the meetings, see where people read on it.

And :\ @ getting your head attacked! OMG! Yeah, Evey was so skitzy for a good while and they said she was the most feral/afraid of people of the feral litter they brought in. You'd never know it now! /proud of her girl. Now she's a bunny cuddlin lil snuggler who mows for our attention and rubs my leg and follows us around... The shelter had the cats socializing with each other regularly and all running around loose, so I could see how she interacted with the other kitties. She was quick to back down with the other cats and felt she wouldn't be aggressive with the bunnies. I was right. <3

D'AWWWW. SO MUCH CUTE. <3

And yeah, many times cats will just blossom once in a loving home. <3 Ariel became mister runs-around-and-plays-a-lot, my little disaster kitty, but he also will park his butt right next to the door 30 minutes before I get home and give me headbutts when I enter the house. I lurves him.

I think part of it was he might have had a bad reaction to his flea meds. He has been having flea issues, and the stuff I was using before wasn't working (he started itching so much he has lost some hair. :( ), so I got the stuff you put on the back of their necks. I read up on poisoning and one of the lesser symptoms is over-excited states, which explains it. He has no other symptoms though, and everything I read says the symptoms will fade, so I am keeping a very close eye on him and looking up natural flea remedies. He's already so much more calm and sweet today then he was yesterday and two days ago, so I think it's getting out of his system. (NOT using that stuff again, ever!) It could also just be that he saw something spooky, flipped out, then when my reflexes sent him down the stairs he got jumpier because that was NOT FUN.

/sighs as she cuddles kitty

And a poll sounds good! Would definitely be great to hear what people want about it. /nods
